What Happens When You Wrap Your Car?

Let’s talk little bit about those titles, what wrapping a car actually protects? When you wrap your car you are installing vinyl which is about 3mil thick material , so this extra opaque layer protects almost %100 from uv light which is actually destroys the original paint of your car through the years. Vinyl wrap isn’t strong as paint protection films which is made to protect the paint from deep scratches however you still get a little bit of protection from scratches small chips from rocks with vinyl wrap. We all know Boston has very rough weather conditions and sometimes to clean off the snow of your car is a hard challenge , we all use brushes or scrapers to do that, while we doing it we actually scratching the paint without even noticing. 

When you vinyl wrap your with a 3m certified installers , you are actually preventing this issues to happen. What really nice about vinyl wrap is, it has self healing technology which means after you scratched your vinyl wrap if you heated up the vinyl with heat gun or even hair blower it will disappear. When that happens to your car original paint this is not the case. You will need to buff it and spend some money on it. 

 Now let’s talk about getting a fresh and new look to your car. When you wrap your vehicle with vinyl wrap you pretty much having a new car when you look at your car it will look like brand new car . You can do this with keeping the same color with different finish options which are satin finish, gloss finish and matte finish. One of my favorite finish on the vinyl wrap is satin finish. Satin finish vinyl wraps aren’t super glossy as gloss finish neither super dull as matte finish. It’s pretty much between those two. Satin finish vinyl wraps are also easier to keep it clean compare to gloss or matter finish vinyls . 

 You do not have to register your car new color when you wrap it instead of painting it In Boston Massachusetts. This is amazing because some states don’t allow you to change the car color with vinyl wrap unless you register it. This is another pros of fully changing your car color in Boston. You can change your white car to black, purple, pink, blue whatever color you like with whatever finish as you pleased.
